It seems now that the most helpful and useful domains to focus on are document/web understanding which can be queried by users. The idea is for axpress to be an intermediary between a user and the wealth of information available to them.
General AI
If the idea is to displace jobs fast enough to slow the economy and stop pollution, which jobs should be displaced first? Is there an order that would work best? How can there be a peaceful transition to unemployment?
- if when you remove jobs, you also make the product nearly free, the product that is nearly free should also be 'clean'
- allow people to talk and ask questions about how to garden
- use image analysis to determine from a picture what is wrong with a plant (not really especially helped by axpress)
- allow people experimenting with natural building techniques to share with each other
- news?
One method which seems to make a bit of sense: expand to a new field and charge for the new technology, when that one is complete, move onto the next one. Once the second one is profitable, open source the first. Continue. On the one hand you want to make something 'good' free, on the other hand you want don't want to displace 'good' people's jobs.
Politics
say this is released as part of Ubuntu. Then what? What if it is released on a web site? What should I do initially to make money from it assuming that if it is a good idea it will spread quickly?
